BRIEF CURRY HISTORY:
People have been eating Curry for over 4,500 years and since its inception, the word curry has changed its meaning and become ubiquitous as a menu word. Once it just meant Indian food, but it now denotes various kinds of dishes in numerous different parts of the world, but all are savory and all are spiced. At Curry Fest 2017, we will be “Bringing Cultures Together.”
Traditionally, curry spices are used whole and ground; cooked or raw; and they may be added at different times during the cooking process to produce different results. The main spices found in most curry powders of the Indian subcontinent are coriander, cumin, and turmeric; a wide range of additional spices may be included depending on the geographic region and the foods being included (fish, lentils, red or white meat, rice, and vegetables).
Approximately 23 million people eat curry regularly and everywhere the cuisine is enjoyed, it has its own variations and peculiarities. We look forward to seeing you at CURRY FEST 2017 where you can be a part of the experience.
